Beginner Class Minimum weight #250 5 to 8 years old 3600 engine rpm MAX
NOTE: This is a beginner class and is for the NEW driver to teach them how to race under real racing conditions, how the track flag procedures work, and for the racing costs to be as economical as possible.
Drivers 1. Maximum 8 yrs old. Drivers over 8 may compete with track official approval. 2. Must have serviceable fire extinguisher in pit.
Frames 1. Fun-kart, custom built or production frames allowed. 2. No aluminum or titanium material. 3. Engine can be mounted behind or beside the seat
Body 1. Bodies are required. 2. Fiberglass, aluminum, plastic or steel bodies. 3. Wings are allowed. Wing sides must stay within 3” from outer most edge of kart No sharp edges.
Bumpers and nerf bars 1. Front and rear bumpers required of Max. 1" O.D. tubing. Not to exceed outside tread width of tires. 2. Bumpers and nerf bars must have rounded or capped ends. No sharp edges.
Roll cage and seat belts 1. Minimum 4-point cage with 3" head clearance. NO conduit cages allowed. 2. Cage must be constructed of steel no smaller than 3/4" O.D. 3. Roll cage must be securely welded or bolted to frame. 4. Minimum 4-point seat belt. Aluminum racing seat is recommended.
Wheels and tires 1. Any 5" or 6" wheel. 2. Any Tire
Brakes 1. Brakes must be capable of stopping kart within a safe distance. Disc or Drum brakes only.
Drive train 1. Live axle only. 2. Chain guard required. 3. Steel Shoe Clutch only.
Engine 1. Any motor (up to 6.5hp) provided it remains stock and the MAX RPMs it produces is 3600. NO ANIMAL MOTORS - NO MOTORSPORTS MOTORS. 2. STOCK only!! no modification can be made to these engines period. Stock Exhaust system and Stock Air Filter must be used. The motor MUST remain EXACTLY as it came from the factory - no exceptions. 3. Max RPMs are 3600 - do not disconnect, remove, adjust, or modify the govenor! The 3600 rpm rule is to allow these young drivers the control they need in order to learn to properly handle a racing kart under actual racing conditions. This class is designed to INTENTIONALLY be a very slow class.
Fuel 1. Fuel is restricted to gasoline only 87% octane.
Junior 1
.500 restrictor plate Minimum weight #250 6 to 10 years old
Drivers: 1) Maximum 10yrs old. Drivers over 10 may compete with track official approval.

1) There will be a $200.00 claim rule on all engines 2) Must have .500 inch intake restrictor 3) No modification can be made to the engine except to add the header/muffler and air filter. See Tech Procedures for complete engine rules.
Junior 2
Ages 8 to 11
